Frankfurt am Main, 21 February 2019 – The Supervisory Board of Deutsche Beteiligungs AG is once again complete: today, the Annual General Meeting elected Dr Maximilian Zimmerer by a broad majority. He is now the sixth member of the Supervisory Board. The election became necessary when the former long-serving Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Andrew Richards, resigned from his office for health reasons and left the Board last October.
Dr Zimmerer (born 1958) is a Supervisory Board member of Münchener Rückversicherungs-Gesellschaft Aktiengesellschaft ("Munich Re"), based in Munich. At the end of 2016, he had ended his active board membership at Alli-anz SE, having worked for the insurance group since 1988. He held various Executive Board positions since 2000: his last tenure as a member of the Executive Board of Allianz SE included responsibility for Allianz Group's investments – and hence, also for the private equity business.
"We are convinced that Dr Zimmerer's experience and expertise will very well complement the competence profile of DBAG's Supervisory Board," commented Gerhard Roggemann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, following the election by the Annual General Meeting.
