netzkontor acquires BFE Nachrichtentechnik

Our portfolio company netzkontor, which offers services relating to the planning and supervision of fibre-optic network construction as well as subsequent network management services, has already carried out its second company acquisition since we entered into this investment one year ago: through the purchase of BFE Nachrichtentechnik GmbH, netzkontor is strengthening its range of services and expanding its customer base.

BFE can look back on more than 40 years of experience in the planning, installation and maintenance of communications and data networks of all kinds. It has been an active player in the expansion of broadband technology in the Federal Republic of Germany since the very beginning and, since reunification, also in East Germany. Today, BFE's business focus lies on constructing and maintaining overground telecommunications lines.

netzkontor is one of five DBAG investments in the broadband communications sector. In January 2018, the DBAG ECF fund, advised by DBAG, purchased the majority of shares in the company from its founders. As a co-investor to DBAG ECF, DBAG holds a stake in netzkontor of approximately 34 per cent.
