Our most valuable asset is not on any balance sheet: creative, motivated and well-trained employees are the key to Deutsche Beteiligungs AG's success, and the investment advisory team has long been one of the largest and most experienced in our market.
With around 100 people in our offices in Frankfurt/Main, Milan and Luxembourg, we are well positioned to handle the entire investment process with our own resources. The Board of Management, Investment Advisory Team and corporate functions work closely together. Flat hierarchies and short decision-making paths enable us to be close to the market, prepare investment decisions in a well-founded manner and closely support the development of our portfolio companies.
The DBAG Board of Management consists of three members:
Tom Alzin, the Board’s Spokesman, and Jannick Hunecke. They are members of the Investment Advisory Team and actively involved in the transaction business – in identifying investment opportunities and in supporting and disinvesting portfolio companies. The third Board member, Melanie Wiese, is Chief Financial Officer.

Tom Alzin joined Deutsche Beteiligungs AG in 2004 and became a Managing Director in 2011. He has 19 years of experience in the private equity business.
Tom Alzin holds a degree in Business Administration from the HEC Lausanne, and also studied at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Jannick Hunecke joined Deutsche Beteiligungs AG in 2001 and became a Managing Director in 2008. He has 23 years of experience in the private equity business in Germany’s mid-market sector.

Melanie Wiese worked for energy companies E.ON SE and Innogy SE, both based in Essen, and Bayernwerk AG, Regensburg, between 2017 and 2022. Most recently, she has been a member of the Management Board at both Innogy SE and Bayernwerk AG, being responsible for Finance (CFO at Bayernwerk AG). Prior to that, she had assumed the roles of Head of Accounting & Reporting at Innogy SE and Head of Group Accounting at E.ON SE. Before joining technology company ZF Friedrichshafen in 2014, where she headed the international Shared Service Organisation until 2017, Melanie Wiese had worked as a consultant at Accenture Management Consulting and The Hackett Group.
Melanie Wiese holds a degree in business law from Leuphana University, Lueneburg.
Performance in the private equity business is closely linked to the people involved in it. With more than 30 professionals directly engaged in ongoing operations, DBAG’s Investment Advisory Team is the largest in Germany. Its members have a broad skill set and more than 250 years of combined private equity experience in Germany’s Mittelstand. They can draw on their multifaceted knowledge – for even very complex private equity transactions.
The team member’s expertise in DBAG’s business is also founded on their longstanding service. Deal Captains have been with DBAG for an average of 12 years. The experienced members of the Investment Advisory Team invest their own money in the portfolio companies alongside the DBAG funds and DBAG. That creates an identity of interest. A project team of two to four individuals is generally responsible for each transaction.

Volker Bonsels joined Deutsche Beteiligungs AG in 1995 and became a Managing Director in 2001.
He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Technology, Kaiserslautern, and also studied at the University of Warwick. He started his professional career as a trainee in corporate banking at Deutsche Bank.
Volker Bonsels has 28 years of experience in private equity. He was, and is, a member of the advisory councils at those portfolio companies in which DBAG invested under his lead capacity. He has extensive expertise in a variety of sectors, including building components, industrial services and mechanical and plant engineering. Among the most successful transactions he led are Coperion, Lewa and Otto Sauer Achsenfabrik.

Malte Hinz joined Deutsche Beteiligungs AG in 2013 and became a Managing Director in 2019.
Malte Hinz has eleven years of experience in the private equity sector. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Mannheim, and also studied at the University of Leeds.

Lucas Herbert joined Deutsche Beteiligungs AG in 2007 and became a Managing Director in 2015.
Lucas Herbert has 17 years of experience in the private equity sector. During this time, he has gained extensive knowledge, particularly in the IT services/software, mechanical and plant engineering and healthcare sectors. Lucas Herbert has been involved in a large number of corporate investments and disposals. These include Romaco, Spheros, Gienanth and Silbitz. He also led the investment process in blikk, Cloudflight and operasan.
He holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, and also studied at the Maastricht University and the University of Newscastle, Australia.

Linda Hoegener Schinwald joined the Investment Advisory Team of Deutsche Beteiligungs AG in 2014 and was appointed as Managing Director in 2024. Since then, she has been responsible for business development with a focus on intermediary & sponsor coverage, succession situations and family offices.
She has over ten years of experience in the private equity sector and has been involved in numerous company investments and disposals. She gained previous experience in industry, in the portfolio company of a fund and at another investment company.
Linda Hoegener Schinwald holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the Technical University of Munich and an MBA from the Collège des Ingénieurs Paris. She also studied at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Thilo-Anyas König joined Deutsche Beteiligungs AG in 2020.
He began his professional career at McKinsey & Company, where he worked from 2005 to 2014. He then joined the private equity firm Orlando Management. There he advised on numerous transactions in various industries and supported portfolio companies in their strategic and operational development. Thilo-Anyas König has ten years of experience in private equity.
Thilo-Anyas König holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen and an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau and Singapore. He also studied at the Singapore Management University and the Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania).

Giovanni Revoltella leads DBAG Italia as Managing Director since 2021.
He has 20 years of experience in private equity. He started his career at Lehman Brothers M&A in London and subsequently worked as an investor at Argan Capital, Italy1 Investment SPAC and Capvis.
Giovanni Revoltella obtained a degree in economics from Bocconi University, Milan, and also studied at the University of Cologne.

Kai Wiesenbach can look back on 19 years of experience in private equity. During that time, he gained extensive expertise, particularly in mechanical and plant engineering and the automotive supplier sector. He was involved in numerous acquisitions and realisations, including Coperion, Heim & Haus and Lewa. He led the investment process in Formel D and More than Meals and sits on the advisory council of More than Meals.

Linda Sawallich has 11 years of experience in M&A and two years in private equity.

Ragnar Geerdts has over 12 years of experience in private equity. He has extensive knowledge of the automotive supplier and telecommunications industries and in mechanical and plant engineering. He was involved in numerous investments and disinvestments and led the investment process in in-tech, vitronet, netzkontor, von Poll Immobilien, BTV Multimedia, Solvares, DING and DGA. In these companies he sits on the advisory councils. Before joining Deutsche Beteiligungs AG Ragnar Geerdts worked in the area of M&A at Bayer AG and at Deutsche Post AG.

He began his professional career in the M&A department of Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt/Main, where he worked from 2007 to 2009. Afterwards he was part of the enterprise improvement practice of Roland Berger and AlixPartners till 2016. There he advised on numerous projects in various industries with a focus on the German Mittelstand and corporate carve-outs. In 2016 he joined a stock listed industrial holding in Germany. Christoph Grossekämper was leading the M&A team and was responsible for various transactions in the GSA region with a focus on the Mittelstand and corporate carve-outs. He has eight years of experience in private equity.

Prior to that, he was a Principal at Cognetas (2005 to 2011) and an Associate in Investment Banking at Morgan Stanley (2000 to 2005).

Jochen Baumann has 27 years of experience in private equity. He is also a member of the advisory councils at the portfolio companies in which DBAG invested under his management. His focus includes the implementation of buy-and-build concepts, such as those installed at ProXES, Romaco and Unser Heimatbäcker. He has in-depth knowledge of the packaging industry and special expertise in the food sector as well as in mechanical and plant engineering.

Bernd Sexauer was initially with Deutsche Beteiligungs AG from 1991 to 2006 and became a Managing Director in 1998. Since his return in 2012, he has been strengthening the team at Deutsche Beteiligungs AG once more.
Prior to entering private equity practice, he earned a degree in Business Administration from Goethe University, Frankfurt. From 2006 to 2012 he was Managing Director at DZ Equity Partner and at Prolimity Capital Partners, and CEO of publicly listed Heliad Equity Partners.
Bernd Sexauer has more than 30 years of experience in the investment business and in corporate finance. As a member of supervisory boards, advisory councils and other governance bodies he has supported 'Mittelstand' companies in numerous transactions. He has a wealth of knowledge especially of the automotive supplier sector, which he was able to apply for the investment in Oechsler.

Manuel Mache began his career at PwC in transaction consulting. Most recently, he worked as an Investment Associate at Chirisa Investments. He has three years of experience in private equity.
Manuel Mache holds a Bachelor of Science in Banking and Finance from Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University and a Master of Science in Finance from Trinity Business School, Dublin. He is also a is a CFA Charterholder.
As proven specialists in their field, the employees of the Corporate Functions cover a broad spectrum of competencies: Business Development, Corporate Communications, Finance and Accounting, Human Resources and Organisation, Investor Relations, IT, Legal and Tax, Portfolio Valuation, Research, Risk Management and Internal Audit. Theresa Baumstark was first employed at Deutsche Beteiligungs AG from 2012 to 2014. With her return in 2019, she has been strengthening the team of Deutsche Beteiligungs AG once more as Director Fund Investor Relations.
Prior to joining DBAG for the first time, Theresa Baumstark worked at Lampe Corporate Finance in M&A and, between 2014 and 2019, at Porsche AG focusing on risk management and M&A.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in European Economic Studies from Otto-Friedrich-University Bamberg and a Master of Science in Finance and Information Management from the Technical University of Munich. She also studied at the University of Krakow.

Yasmin Behboudi joined DBAG in 2021 and became Head of Human Resources in 2022.
Before joining DBAG, she was Executive Director in Human Capital Management at Goldman Sachs in Frankfurt/Main. Prior to that, she worked at Jones Lang LaSalle as an HR Advisor and supervised employees in six European countries. Yasmin Behboudi began her career in recruiting specialists and executives at personnel consultancies specialising in the financial industry.

Marcus Bröcker joined DBAG in 2020 and is Head of Financing.
has 16 years of experience in corporate and acquisition financing, both through banks and capital markets.
Prior to joining DBAG, he was a debt advisor at Rothschild & Co., where he advised corporates and financial investors on debt financings. Prior to that, he worked for UniCredit in high yield capital markets, leveraged finance and corporate structured finance. Marcus Bröcker began his professional career at Deutsche Bank.
After completing his banking training, Marcus Bröcker received a master in business sciences from the University of Münster.

Matthias Döll joined DBAG in 2020 and is the firm’s Director Legal & Shareholder Relations.
Previously he was a Corporate/M&A lawyer at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
Matthias Döll holds law degrees from Bucerius Law School, Hamburg (LL.B.) and Goethe University, Frankfurt/Main (Dr. jur.) He also studied at Boston College Law School and the University of Oxford.

Florian Döring joined DBAG in 2012. Since then he has been Head of the Legal Department.
Previously he was a lawyer at Linklaters LLP, specialising in private equity/M&A.
Florian Döring holds a degree in Law from the Saarland University, Saarbruecken, and also studied at the University of Warwick, and at the Université de Lille. He completed a post-graduate judicial clerkship at the Higher Regional Court in Saarbrücken.

Sam Henkes joined DBAG Luxembourg in 2023.
He started his career as a transfer agent with Fidelity Investments, before working as an Account Manager with ATC Corporate Services. Afterwards he joined The Riverside Company, an American private equity company, where he spent almost 12 years as a Director of Finance and Accounting. In 2020, he furthermore became Conducting Officer and was part of the senior management for Riverside´s newly created AIFM.

Katharina Köll joined Deutsche Beteiligungs AG in 2017 and took over as Head of Investment Controlling in 2021.
Before joining DBAG, Katharina Köll worked for several years in management consulting, most recently at PwC with a focus on transaction services and valuation.

Eamonn McDonald joined DBAG Luxembourg in 2023.
Previously, he worked as a lawyer in the corporate team of a well-known Luxembourg business law firm and as a vice president in the Luxembourg legal team of a leading U.S. asset manager.
Eamonn McDonald holds a Master`s degree in law from University College Cork, Ireland, and completed bar qualifications in New York State, USA, and Ireland.

Lukas Noll joined DBAG in 1999 and has headed the IT department since 2014. He became a Managing Director in 2020.

Before joining DBAG, Sigrid Rosemeyer was a Managing Director at Capital Group for six years. Prior to that, she worked in asset management at Helaba Invest as Director Institutional Sales. Sigrid Rosemeyer began her career at Merrill Lynch, where during her 14-year tenure she was initially responsible for Fixed Income Institutional Clients, Equity Derivatives and most recently Structured Fund Sales in the DACH region.

Previously, Thomas Weber served at PwC, Commerzbank and Concept Consulting, a mid-market consultancy firm. In addition to business development, he focused on human resources.
